Hello and welcome to my world!

My name is Sandra Trott. I am a freelance horse trainer and riding coach specialising in ‘Equitation Science’.

You can read more about me in ‘Who is behind the words‘.

The initial idea behind this blog was to have a serious conversation about equitation science and horse training. But just like I thought I was coming to Germany to learn from a master trainer, what I thought I wanted to write about and what I want to write about are two different things…!

I consume a vast amount of content, I seem to have this insatiable desire for knowledge and I figure if find something cool and of value someone else might too. So I kinda see/hope this blog becomes a big knowledge pit of information, where I share the cool stuff that I would want to tell my friends and family about, the things that inspire me and the things that teach me…

Secondly I want to share my work with the horses; partly as it challenges me to be honest to my craft and values, partly to try and help some people out and partly to show others what ‘Equitation Science’ can offer to the world of horses and perhaps beyond…

So these are some snapshots of my journey through life, seen through the the lens of the various paths that I travel and shadowed by the ones of the past.

Highlighted always by the songs that the horses sing to me everyday… please may I never ever stop listening to them…

“We shall not cease from exploration. And the end of our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” T S Eliot

“Wanderer, your footsteps are the road and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road, and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again” Antonio Machado

Your horse is a mirror to your soul, and sometimes you may not like what you see. Sometimes, you will.
